How To Put On Invisalign Aligners
Start by washing your hands and brushing and flossing so the aligner sits against your clean teeth and you don’t track any bacteria from your fingers into your mouth.
Hold the upper arch tray and gently seat it over the front teeth first. Then, do the same for the lower tray. You want to push the aligner on the back teeth (molars) last.
Use your fingertips and not your bite, to press along the molars until the aligner is fully seated everywhere in your mouth.
Use chewies (ask us if you run out!) to close any small gaps between the plastic and the tooth.
Wearing Your Clear Aligners
Wear your aligners 20 to 22 hours per day and remove them to eat and for any drink that is not water.
After meals, brush and rinse before putting them back in so you do not trap food or sugary liquids under the tray.
If an aligner is not seating, do not advance to the next set until we check it, since that can cause problems with your treatment plan. Consistent wear and good seating on your teeth are the two most important habits that keep treatment on time!
